This endangered MORELET'S CROCODILE lives in a lagoon of the New River in the Orange Walk District of BELIZE. One evening my host, Mark Howell of Lamanai Outpost Lodge, another fellow, and I donned headlights and searched for these reptiles from an airboat.

To the tune of Simon Says, I waded in the water after Mark and felt the snout of this same croc brush my pants leg. Later, I held it.
